  • HoopTime Season Program Outline

  • HoopTime Mission Statement: The mission of HoopTime Basketball is to provide highly qualified and motivated coaches to teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills to elementary and middle school aged student athletes who desire the opportunity to play in a competitive, dedicated, supportive and disciplined team environment.

Regardless of skill level, HoopTime players will be expected to bring a positive attitude and a high level of effort and intensity to all games, practices and events.
The program is open to boys and girls in grades 3-6.

The HoopTime season consists of two sessions:

    1. The first session focusing on fundamentals will runs approximately from January -  middle of February.
Registration is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration for the first session is $125.00 per player; for families registering two or more players, the cost is $125.00 for the first player and $100.00 for each additional player.

    2. The second session will place greater emphasis on competition and will run from middle of February through the completion of the Mike Jackson Memorial HoopTime Shootout tournament ( scheduled for March during school spring break). 8th grade teams will continue practicing until their out-of-state tournament (possibly 2-4 more weeks).

Players having participated in the fundamental session must be invited by their coach in order to participate in the competitive session. A written invitation will be emailed to selected players prior to the first scheduled competitive team practice. Players not participating in the fundamental session will not be invited to participate in the competitive session. Payment for the competitive session is $300.00. $100.00 must be paid online or at the first practice of the second session in order for the player to continue participation in practices. The remaining $200.00 can be earned through fundraising (each player will be given twenty raffle tickets at the first practice). For families registering two or more players, the cost is $300.00 for the first player and $275.00 for each additional player (part of which can be offset by the raffle tickets). 8th graders may use additional raffle ticket sales to offset costs for the out-of-state tournament.

Payment in full is required regardless of player availability for travel/tournaments. Players who expect to miss a significant portion of the second session should advise coaches prior to the start of the session.

All 4th and 5th grade players will be invited to continue. This grade level may or may not travel and will continue to focus on fundamentals.
Teams will have two to four practices per week. Coaches will select teams to participate in each tournament independent of earlier selections.

All players participating in the second session will be placed on a team during Mike Jackson Memorial HoopTime Shootout tournament.
Coaches will select travel/tournament teams from the competitive pools to participate in each tournament independent of earlier selections.
Players selected to travel rosters will be responsible for additional costs and fundraising.
